12 Year Prayer of St Bridget PDF About

Saint Bridget of Sweden, commonly referred to as Birgitta of Vadstena or Heliga Bridget, experienced many visions throughout her life that revealed Christ’s sufferings and revealed prayers honoring each time Jesus shed his blood for us: circumcision, agony in the garden, scourging at pillar, crowning with thorns crowning with cross carrying then finally cruxificiation.

These seven prayers, if recited daily for 12 years, would honor each of Jesus’ 5,480 wounds and blows. Christ appeared to St Bridget and promised her that, by praying these prayers with devotion, she will avoid purgatory; three other individuals can also be kept in an adequate state of grace to become holy while her soul will receive its promised heavenly reward.

An audio CD of these prayers is also available, making them easy and portable for prayer on-the-go! Simply insert this CD into your automobile CD player and enjoy powerful prayers as you travel between work or on long trips – or any time throughout your day!

12 Year Prayer of St Bridget Promises

The 12 Year Prayer of St Bridget was revealed through three distinct apparitions to Saint Bridget of Sweden by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as an offering from Him honoring His seven wounds and Precious Blood. Prayed daily over twelve years with five promises attached.

First, Jesus promises those who pray these prayers will avoid purgatory. Second, they will attain the first degree of perfection and thirdly if they die before twelve years have been completed, they will be forgiven. Fourthly, those praying these prayers will be included among the martyrs while fifthly they can select three others whom Jesus will keep in an appropriate state of grace to become holy.

These promises are grounded on Saint Bridget of Sweden, an influential 14th-century Swedish mystic and visionary known for her interpretations of Jesus’ Passion and founding of the Order of St Savior before her death in Rome 1373.

St Bridget of Sweden 12 Year Prayer

St Bridget of Sweden was an influential 14th century widow, mystic, and saint who founded the Bridgettines order of nuns and was canonized by Pope Boniface IX on July 23rd 1391. Today she is known as Birgitta Birgersdotter or Birgitta of Vadstena; her feast day falls on July 23rd; she is considered patron saint for Europe, Sweden, Widows and for having a holy death.

Bridget experienced several visions, one being of Jesus teaching her the 12 Year Prayers devotion. These prayers honor Christ’s seven wounds (circumcision, scourging, crowning with thorns crowning with thorns carrying of cross crucifying and piercing his side). Jesus appeared to Bridget to teach these prayers daily for 12 years with five promises given for doing so.

Many may feel daunted by the thought of praying these prayers daily for 12 years, yet it really shouldn’t be difficult. Just take 7 minutes a day and begin again when possible if life gets hectic – our Lord understands! Just continue when possible.

Saint Bridget of Sweden stands as an outstanding example of feminine sanctity. She lived as a faithful wife, mother of eight children, widow and finally consecrated nun – becoming well known for her many visions as well as efforts to strengthen devotion and morality within a decayed 14th-century Church.

St Bridget received many enlightening insights, one of which included this set of prayers to honor Christ’s seven outpourings of his Precious Blood on our behalf: his circumcision, agony in the garden, scourging at the pillar, crowning with thorns crowning with thorns crowning with thorns crowning with thorns crowning carrying of cross and cruxifixion. She was promised that if she repeated these daily for 12 years that our Lord would grant her five privileges from our Lord!

She braved plague-torn Europe to make her pilgrimage and visit Pope Innocent III in Rome to secure authorization for her new order. Even after Rome received its own Pope, she continued working towards supporting both Catholics and her new order; her feast day is commemorated every July 23rd.

Conclusion

St Bridget of Sweden was a 14th century mystic and visionary. Our Lord instructed her to recite daily for 12 years a set of prayers honoring the various times He shed His Precious Blood: circumcision, agony in the garden, scourging on the pillar, crowning of thorns crowning of thorns carrying cross and ultimately crucification. Jesus himself taught Bridget these prayers as well as offering five promises to those who do so as well.

Though these prayers may help with spiritual transformation, it’s important to be aware that their promises may not be approved by Holy Mother Church. Even though praying this prayer could earn one entrance into heaven’s choir of angels, sacramental confession alone cannot guarantee forgiveness for real.

No matter if a supplicant dies before his or her prayers have been completed, as long as they were offered with true intention. If missed days are legitimately excused they can always be made up later.
